Job Type: Full Time.

Location: Hekima University College, Nairobi, Kenya.

Job SpecificationDuties/responsibilities at this level entail:

 

Hekima University College is seeking applications for House Manager and Advertising Officer.

The following are the expected duties:

  • Oversee the HUC canteen, supervising all day-to-day catering operations, ensuring food safety and menu quality
  • Provide consistent welcoming and high-quality customer service for customers (students, staff, guests and clients)
  • Market conferencing/accommodation services,
  • Market courses offered at Hekima University College
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with the HODs as pertains to house management matters
  • Update the   conference,   catering   and   accommodation   vision/strategy   and the implementation of relevant changes
  • Take care of the maintenance of the entire HUC physical infrastructure
  • Produce an annual budget for catering and accommodation and be accountable for budget performance
  • Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping
  • Generate and process invoices
  • Manage procurement processes, and ensure stock management and waste management systems are implemented
  • Ensure maintenance of facilities
  • Ensure self-sustenance of all the facilities at Hekima University College
  • Being a good communicator, understanding the client’s likes and dislike
  • Responsible, efficient, discreet, and organized
  • Any other tasks and duties required by the Management

Required Qualification

  1. BA in catering services; or BA in Procurement; or BA in Business Administration; or BA in Social Sciences
  2. Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in catering, administration, procurement or catering
  3. Good knowledge of hospitality services; conference facility administration; financial sustainability of the institution
  4. Proven work experience as a House Manager or worked in a similar role/office
  5. Good interpersonal skills and work ethics
  6. Can work under pressure of deadlines
  7. Has good public relations skills – can visit institutions and advertise Hekima University College programs
  8. Has innovative advertising skills
  9. Ability to handle multiple tasks
